Founded in 1988 by Steve Edwards, PTS grew from a small “shed” office in East Grinstead to a 57,000 sq ft headquarters and a dedicated Midlands branch, today serving 120+ countries with over 46,000 SKUs in stock.

Steve started with a simple belief: builders, engineers and buyers should be able to build with confidence. Working from a small office he jokingly called “the shed”, he handled handwritten enquiries, checked stock on a few shelves, and began building the company’s reputation for quality, service and reliability.

In 2025 we introduced near-zero-tolerance Precision Shim Washers — our own range setting a new benchmark for accuracy and reliability — and moved into a new 57,000 sq ft headquarters to keep pace with demand.
